Anyone,
Have you looked at *this* test? I took one (not this one) a while
ago. It took me 20 minutes to take the test and 60 minutes to write
up the reasons that two of the questions didn't make sense to anyone
who understood why a PERL [sic] test couldn't make sense.
The HR folks thanked me, were very impressed with my command of the
English and Perl (correctly capitalized in both cases) languages, said
they'd forward my suggestions to their certification board, and never
returned further calls.
I took the "certifiably insane certification test" bait once, more out
of curiosity than genuine interest in the position. It won't happen
again.
Randal,
I like your appeal to "Larry Wall certified" criteria for
certification. It shows a commitment to wanting to answer their
concerns without actually taking the bait. Do you have any reason to
believe that Larry would actually be interested in certifying such a
certification? If I were a betting man (and I sometimes am), I'd
guess that certification wouldn't be a game Larry wanted to play.
