Director of Back-end Development (PHP/MySQL)
Qualified candidates have well-rounded background in web software development, and experience architecting complex software systems for large-scale, high traffic websites. Responsibilities include: Lead and mentor a team of backend software engineers (onsite, offshore, and contract resources); Interact with business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions; Create robust, scalable and maintainable software solutions; set development methodologies and standards; Work alongside peers / other technology managers to evaluate new technologies and implement best practices; Ensure on-time delivery of projects; evaluate third party solutions as necessary. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science · Deep experience with open source technologies (PHP, MySQL, Apache) · Experience managing software development teams · Expert knowledge of SDLC · Understanding of highly-scalable software architecture · Significant knowledge of: content management systems, search engines, CRM applications, analytics applications, ad-serving technology, email systems, and community platforms · Agile methodologies Sue Fehser, Esq.
