Could you elaborate on why (apart from the reduction in the number of 
methods). I use untyped (long) a lot in internal calculations for speed, 
and would like to know if there is a problem with that approach. I use 
typed almost as "documentation", that is, this _is_ an Interval, you 
know, not just a couple of longs. It's one of the things I like about 
Joda-Time, the facility of converting to-from milliseconds. Count me as 
a user reluctant to that planned move to the typed world, except if 
there are some unsuspected dangers lurking in my way of working :o)
