FYI, I've tried the toolchain bit. It worked. I'm planning on using it
going forward.
(Ideally, I want the toolchain to have a default of "whatever maven is
running as". Its only me that cares about a specific JDK version,
because I have to do the canonical release. But I didn't see anything
in toolchain to handle that.)
