Hello All,
At first I would to thank Mr. Khamis for your encouragement.
everything begins small and become bigger and bigger. As Ammar and Zaid says we don't
have the time for the Lug, yes thats right, but once everyone of us works on his circle
that he can works with we can do a great job. Mohammad Halawah determines a time for a
great lecture, that he can give it on 5th jan, it is a very great job and a very great
step "|Good Luck man", we announced a lecture about Terracota, may be we can
give it at the end of janueray, another person can contribute from the mailling list,
another one from flashing ideas and so on, I promise you Zaid and Ammar that I will not
say any more words. As a member in the JoLug I want to believe in knowledge sharing and
contribution (just), I want to achieve these two principles in my actions and movements
in the Lug. Once I failed that means I failed in achieve those two principles.
My Mission Statement in the Lug is : knowledge sharing and contribution, any
person who agree with me please rise your hand and lets start, Dear all , no
words from now we need to word, and please we don't want to judge ourselves any
more again
Good Luck all and I wish you a happy new year full of knowledge sharing and
contribution
Salam
Ala' A. Halasa

Subject: [JoLUG-General] Re: JoLug Mission Statement
Salam all,
Well, we have been there for sure, this discussion, this enthusiasm and this
despair.
Everyone needs to understand that wanting to do something on the JoLUG level doesn't really need to have all JoLUG members' attention or contribution. Ala you seem to have hot blood and that you want to do something good in this LUG, please go forward, collect some of the people who are like you have that passion and that enthusiasm and steer this LUG as you wish. Active people has the right to lead others and we have to accept that or we quit and maybe start JoDespairLUG where people like me can spend their time there.
Old core team are almost out!! We have done this multiple times, we
contributed, we lectured, we did a lot of things and we tried to do different
things and force others to follow.
Just not to be disappointed as we are now:
1- No expectations => No disappointments
2- Do not force your ideas, your "Statement of Mission" might be adopted by
many others and you can move forward accordingly
3- Old core team (Isam, Basem, Ali, Zaid, Yaman, Ammar, Abdullah, Zu3bi, me ...) are almost either had enough, busy or out of country.
4- You will never reach to something that everyone wants or everyone agrees on. The goals of this LUG has changed different times, it was a social LUG, then it became a Teaching LUG, then it became a mailing list LUG, etc ... So active people leads the others
5- Oldies will not move from their chairs before they really see something happening, they might help you, direct you, do something here and something there but you will not see an oldy active again unless he sees your commitment and your added values.
Please new comers, do whatever you like and you will see that "most of" others
will follow ...
Thanks for your contribution Ala and keep up the good work, and Zaid and Ammar lets give the guy a chance and encourage him he might be able to do what others failed to do ...

hello Zaid,
Everything with patience happens, to be or not to be that is the challenge now.
that has always been the challenge mate, words, words and even more
words with no actions, been there done that, next...
Do you agree with contribution
depends on the type of contribution you are seeking, would I
contribute to the mailing list? sure if I see a question that hasn't
been answered in a while and I do actually have the knowledge needed
to answer it, of course questions rarely go unanswered and so I don't
contribute much, if at all.
Would I contribute by giving lectures? no, I don't have the time, the
incentive and I really hate teaching.
Would I contribute by attending those social meetings? I doubt, I
don't have the time to commit to such social events.
Do you agree with knowledge sharing, that what we want now to achieve man
(Knowledge sharing and Contribution) just
could we success now or not, it is my problem and your problem and every lugger
I've always shared my knowledge but its really not 'my problem' if I
ever decided not to share it anymore, see, this lug as any other lug
is voluntary work, I can't stress the word 'voluntary' enough, there
is no obligation to share anything in here, if you do share then good
job, if you don't then its your choice.
I agree on this part. And when we were a small group, we tried to force ourselves to work on it, and things didn't work out. New comers mostly have stronger drive to work and contribute, this is good but sometimes it scares others away.
If it were up to me, the best case scenario would be to write something all of us as a LUG and contribute to open source. IMHO it's very hard, because most of us work at least 14 hours a day. But still, I'm willing to contribute to something of this nature, NOISA was a good idea.
