Hey guys, I got fed up with my dad asking me to solve virus related problems on his windows machine every so often, so I formatted his machine and installed xubuntu on his 5 year old laptop. The OS itself works like a charm, and my dad generally likes the bundled word processor and spreadsheet applications.
However, my dad is a music fan, and he does not like any of the media players. He tried rythem box, amarok, and many more (any thing he could find in the add software interface). He gave every player about a weeks' worth test, ya3ni not a simple install, don't like, next please cycle. So far, he thinks that they all suck, and I kinda agree with him (specifically amarok). My dad's biggest peeve with all those players is that they all have shitty playlist manipulation functionality. After staying with linux for almost 8 months, he formatted his machine and went back to windows XP, with windows media player and iTunes. Two days later, I have trojan problems to solve. My dad prefers having viruses over not being able to play his music in a comfortable manner, and I get footed with the task to clean up his machine once every few weeks. Can anybody recommend any decent music player for linux? -- ### Jordan Linux Users Group ### http://Jolug.org/ http://groups.google.com/group/Jolug ### Ubuntu Jordan LoCo Team ### https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JordanTeam http://lists.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-jo ### Ojuba Linux ### http://ojuba.org/ ### Jordan PHP ### http://groups.google.com/group/JoPHP
