You need transactions to make full use of EJB, so MySQL is not a good
choice. I've had good luck with Postgresql.
This questions seems to come up a lot. Perhaps a note in the FAQ?

| Hi - does anybody have experience with Jonas & MySQL? I've been able to set
it up on my linux box and run the two examples; however, I'm just wondering if
anybody's been able to use this combination & if so, how it performs, if there
's any bugs, etc....
