Nothing will prevent you to call another JVM or another machine outside
the EJB world. You just must be aware that doing so, you will lost all
functionalities offered by JOnAS:
- no more security checks,
- no more transaction propagation: If you are inside a transaction and
if you decide to rollback it, you will have to compensate what you've
done
on your remote application for example.
But this should not be a problem because you know what you do!
