I just love "My Funny Valentine". My favourite versions are by Nico (yes, The
Frozen One) and by Elvis Costello (yes, he is another favourite of mine ...
tho I rarely listen to his words, oddly enough. I only trust a few with
lyrics and that would fall on Joni, of course, and Laura Nyro).
Twinkle ... didn't The Smiths record one of her songs ... "Golden Lights"?
I don't have 'Fearless', but I have Tim Curry's 'Read My Lips' lp with his
cover of "All I Want" on it. He also covers a Rough Trade song on it and does
"Anyone Who Had a Heart", which Dusty had a go at, so Wally B. woulda dug this
album a lot, I'm sure, Bless him.
Being a Covers freak, myself, my curiosity is certainly piqued over this "Bob
Muller's Joni Covers" collection. Can anybody fill me in?
Finally, my favourite Joni cover is 'Hejira', too. What's this about the
penis covers, tho? I kinda figured out the 'Mingus' one, but the others???
Any clues?
