I don't understand this comment, can you explain?  Joni wrote a song for 
John Lennon called "Impossible Dreamer," it would have been very 
appropriate for her to perform this (or any song of her choosing) at the 
tribute.

Why do you think that it is good news that Joni is not appearing?  Any 
public performance by Joni is a welcome event for this lister.
