this morsel almost got lost on me during Friday's music/crying jag: the thing is: a very small number of people are consumed with murder, seeking to murder civilians of scores of nations BUT millions and millions and millions of people are suddenly and overwhelming looking out for each other. Think of all of those uplifting stories of strangers helping strangers. Of one life-long friend who stayed behind with his quadrapulic friend, in spite of the danger of the unknown. What about the courage of that guy, who thought, "Well, gee whiz, I'm not gonna leave Frank here, like this!" I'm not saying he had a death wish. I'm not saying he foretold his death and chose it. I'm talking about the fact that he didn't KNOW that the building was gonna collapse. His -main- concern was in ************************** NOT LEAVING MY FRIEND ALONE WITH HIS FEAR. ************************** Ya know? I mean, people from all different religions have suffered, and donated, and wept and helped. Even if you look at the numbers, **WE** are right. The peaceful, the civilized, the faithful. Look at the numbers. It's been years since we've had a hijacking, hasn't it? I mean, look how safe we were for so very, very, very long. Is civilisation a trusting bunch of people or what? The pilot and co-pilot sat beyond a flimsy door, without a guard. And this arrangement was so right, so fitting for civilization, that very, very few people got hurt for decades. No, this event does **NOT** shake my faith. Lama PS. I'm not joining in the flag waving but I'm not above wrapping myself up tight in my faith.
