My fellow JMDLers,
I've been thinking about George all day, and about popular music figures,
and about us.
Popular culture seems to demand that a few of its icons die each generation
through suicide, drug overdose, murder, and any number of spectacular
deaths.
But then we're confronted with the premature deaths of Laura Nyro, Dusty
Springfield, George Harrison.
To me, George is the first megastar to die in late middle age of a late
middle age illness. It's pretty sobering.

I hate death. I hate the idea of a judgemental afterlife almost as much as I
fear the concept of eternal oblivoion.
