Hi All, De-lurkers unite!
I haven't been too active in the JMDL since September 11th, although I do read some of them from time to time. The last memory I had of it before the tragedy was reading all of the posts about the Joni-fest held up in New England. I live in New York, and worked in the World Trade Center complex for about 12 years (I have worked in Connecticut for the last 3 years). I was working on the top floor of 7 World Trade Center (now gone) back in 1993 when the first bombing took place, and still have memories of that. George Harrison's death (at age 58) also brings back memories for me, having lost my mother to cancer (at age 56). But it was looking out my window this morning, seeing this beautiful sunny morning, and recalling Harrison's song, that finally prompted me to check in with everyone. Still finding comfort in music. I'm looking at the last couple of CD's that I have bought; Roomful Of Blues, Dr. John, Steve Earle, Grace Griffith and Iris Dement.... Are their any Joni/George Harrison/Beatles connections? Everyone have a great weekend! Mitch
