I love Stevie and I love cats! Have you heard her sing With Kenny Loggins on "Whenever I call you friend"? That's her voice ideally. Now, she has moments on her new album Trouble in Shangri La (what a great fucking title for lost love!!!) which just shine, and moments where I want to slap her and say, "Stevie! Wake up! Stop dropping your notes at the end of a phrase! Enunciate, Dammit! Take deeper breaths..." The album is brilliant in some ways, but then(in her writing)she goes back into her sophomoric mysticsm which makes me want to break her pencil and say," Geez, woman, you got a great thing going, why do you want to ruin it with that crap?!" So there. Nothing like cats at all. More just like a lazy singer... Steve
