That is an understatement for the way that I personally feel about the attitude in this country towards drugs, in relation to punishment, etc. No, I am not advocating drug use but live and let live is a motto that I ascribe to. I am watching the daily news, as I do every day after returning from work. The hockey killer dad was sentenced to 6-10 years in the state pen. For goodness sakes, he murdered someone! I have a good friend. I love him more than I can write here. He was not perfect as none of us are. He wandered off into the world of dealing drugs. I didn't approve but it didn't make me love him less. As I often warned him, he was eventually caught and now is serving a 12 year sentence in the state pen here in Texas. My nephew, a sweet boy, got caught up in the meth craze here in this area. Believe it or not, even in this piss poor world of nothingness, the one thing that is thriving is the meth trade. My nephew, just 18, got 5 years for getting caught. Again, I didn't approve and did my best to get him out of the mess, with the drugs, but couldn't. He didn't understand the ramifications despite being told countless times by uncle mack. Now, he is in prison. I read 54% of the prison population is for drugs. That is ridiculous. Does nothing to solve the problem. Does nothing to find out why the problem exists. 12 years in prison for selling drugs to willing adults, who are seeking out the drugs. 6-10 years for beating another human being to death. Doesn't fit to me.
Phil Gramm retiring. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dick Armey retiring. Yea!!!!!!!!!!! Kay Hutchinson, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was no surprise to me to find out that the saintly mr. gramm and his wife were both heavily involved with Enron. mack
