Hi Walt,

The book came out in '98 and the title is "Tunesmith - Inside the Art of
Songwriting." I think you'd love this book. Not only is it full of
songwriting insight, it is also full of great personal stories and sections
about Joni, Carly, Burt and more. It has received rave reviews. The only
sheet music I've personally seen on Jimmy was from a special collectors
edition "souvenir" book he put out in the 80s, I think, and an old Glen
Campbell songbook. I'm sure his songs can be found elsewhere, however, like
in a Garfunkel songbook, etc. He has a discussion board on jis website
jimmywebb.com where you might inquire about more resources. The people on
that board are experts, of course! ;-)

There is an incredible "Music of Laura Nyro" songbook that is out of print.
It covers First Songs through Christmas and the Beads of Sweat. It comes on
eBay occasionally but usually goes for a steep price.

You must get Webb's "Ten Easy Pieces" from around '96. Many who have heard
it put it in their top 10 of all time.
