Hunter S. Thompson's FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS was a favorite of mine
long before it was made into a movie (I liked the book so much and Johnny
Depp and Benicio del Toro that I chose to believe the film was also good).
I was born in 1968 and I only got to read the books during that decade when
I was well in my thirties. But was this book published during the 60s? It
certainly felt as though it belonged to the radical 60s.
