Since we're on the subject of accents, there's something I've been pondering
for a while and I'm wondering if anyone has an answer. (Maybe I'm pathetic,
but this fascinates me...) I would like to know how so many accents and
dialects can spin off of one language. I know this happens with other
languages, but if you think about English, there are so many in the UK, the
US, Australia, New Zealand, etc. How did they get to be so radically
different?
