Hahaha... well, yeahhhhh... they're talking about My Man!!! Kate said: > how about richard thompson? we are going to see him tonight & everytime i go > to his concerts i am blown away by his talent but only understand a very > little of what he is actually saying... He does do a lot of quick, throw-away lines in between songs. I find it easier to understand him if I relax and don't try to understand him; then I'm no longer translating and all of a sudden I have a British accent too (in my head) and he's making perfect sense. His pronunciation when he's singing is very clear compared to most singers I think, and I can usually understand everything he sings, even when I haven't heard it before. And, if I don't have a clue what he's singing about, there's always the 1-man-sounding-like-3 guitar-playing to be swooped up in. And Alison, who I keep looking for in those Salt Lake City Olympic Games crowds I'm seeing on TV (where are ya, girl? :-), says: > i love > richard thompson live, it's one of the best shows you > can experience. Yes, indeedy. What a guy!!! (sigh) (even when I can't understand what he's saying) Debra Shea
