o.k. hell, since you were brave enough to admit it, so can I. I liked the
originals too. Especially Kim Hunter and Roddy McDowall. And the moments
between Kim and Charlton Heston (the guy as a general rule I do not like)
were very, very good. Very touching. The end where he finds the statue of
liberty was great. And who could possibly forget James Franciscus running
around in only a loincloth. Now that was one sexy guy. Katie, bar the
door. When I rented the new one, I was expecting some great special
effects. There were none. What a dud. Near the end I was hoping it would
be saved by a great sequence of Marky Mark helping the humans battle and
fight off the monkeys, with great skill and daring; you know the story.
Again, dud!!!!!!!!!! And yes, you are right. The ship obviously crash
landed yet all the instruments worked. Also, since that was the case, where
were all the weapons? Not one ray gun onboard. It sucked.
