Good points, Gene.  I admit that my reaction has been a "gut" one (as are many 
others).  It's sadly true that someone will clone, whether it's legal and regulated, 
or not.  But since we've failed so miserably at controlling the other products you've 
listed, how will we control cloning?

I strongly support reproductive choice, yet I find myself uncomfortable about stem 
cell research when it poses the possibility that embryos will be created simply to 
harvest stem cells.  Similarly, I don't want to see cloning used for "curing" 
anything, let alone for much else.  Mother Earth is not going to be able to support 
the human population if people live longer than Nature intended.  And the fact that 
only the relatively wealthy will be able to afford these "cures" ... well, that smacks 
of a certain kind genocide to me.

Wait a minute ... "Gene Mock?"  Is that your real name, or have you just been waiting
