Hi, all,
Recovering from the week from hell (partner Robert's evil sister comes down
from Alaska to try to take over his mother's finances, when Robert is the one
who's been taking care of her and her house for the last two years with
little or no help from anyone else; I called my own lawyer, and with his
help on wording, sent a letter to the lawyer hired by evil sister, which
created a bearable stalement for the time being; but it still sucks).
But still alive, and have some musical questions. One of them is actually
related to the Joanster, so I wasn't sure whether to "NJC" or not. Decided on
"sjc".
(1) In that ZigZag interview from 2/77, Joni mentions a musician, Julie
Felix, whom I've never heard of, who "was doing quite a few of [Joni's]
songs, not very common ones, but peculiar ones {she, i.e. Joni] had
forgotten..."
Wow. Did Ms. Felix ever put out a record? Anybody ever heard it, have it,
etc.? Did somebody already ask these questions?
(2) Anybody familiar with the group Abandoned Pools? Aside from the
intriguing name, I've heard fragments of one of their songs, and liked it.
Sorta art-rocky. What can you tell me about them? I'm tempted to take a
chance on them, but as I say, I've only heard part of one song.
(3) Ditto for India.Aria (if I have the spelling right). Only read about
her -- can anybody describe her? I suppose if I watch the Grammy's, which I
probably will becuz of Joni's Lifetime Achievement Award, I'll find out -- I
think Ms I.A is up for at least one grammy. But anyway, any advice is
welcome.
Thanks,
Walt
