good morning list:
I decided that earlier, when I first got up, while reading emails, I would go back and
listen to Night Ride Home (giving into pear pressure I guess LOL) For me, this was
the 2nd Joni album I bought shortly after I bought Blue. I remembered the feelings I
had when I bought the cd. I had read a review of it in Rolling Stone, and remember
the review saying something about Joni visiting Rickie Lee Jones territory in Ray's
Dads Cadillac. I was also getting into Rickie at that point as well so I rushed out
and bought it. I also remember my minister at the church I was going to at the time
coming over and I was playing Joni's Night Ride Home and him liking it. When he asked
who that was, I told him, oh, it's Joni Mitchell's new album, and he was like, she's
around still? Well that year for his birthday I bought another copy of Night Ride
Home and gave it to him:-)
For me, my favourite songs are the title track, Come in from the cold, and Nothing Can
be done. I mean, I like all the songs on the album, but I have copied onto Real
Jukebox the 3 songs I mentioned so I can listen to those on my computer when I am
surfing the web etc.
