OK, so I'm one of those people who write (or wrote)
technical manuals. I used to be very good at it and the
manuals were very clear. But since I started working
for my current employer, I have to admit that I don't
really 'get' the technology. So I have to rely on
engineers who don't speak any known language. To
decipher their communication and write something
understandable takes all my time and energy. A lot of
writers just give up and trust whatever others tell
them, which makes for rotten manuals. So, that's why
(after I'm off disability) I'm going to change careers.
