Yeah, I get that aspect, but...I mean, a busy tie, yes...
who knows how Joni meant it, but to me it feels more like she is
talking about the wires being crossed and the tape tangled and
then she says 'well the technical manual's busy'...I take it more
as 'not accessable'....I think the word busy is sort of a songwriter's
compromise type of word-yes, Joni does that occasionally-because
it rhymes (sort of!) with easy.
Apart from the lyrics, this song has such a lovely melody, and a
wonderfully odd placement of chords beneath it, the little timing
eccentricities are awesome. The singing and background singing
are very cool, and how the bass and drum become a 'heartbeat'
during that part of the song. FTR is really a collection of little
masterpieces.
