Catherine: I never saw heard this as a harmony--if it is, then what's she singing it "against"? Rather, it always seemed like the primary melody line to me, and like she was trying to hit a note that she missed by a noticeable fraction. But then, I had screwed-up speakers for many, many years. I'll go back and listen to it again.
I'm doubtful, but I hope you're right. ;-) Mary P. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Catherine McKay" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2002 5:21 PM Subject: Re: Bending notes, off pitch, etc. > > --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > > But has anyone else thought that Joni was just plain > > FLAT on the last, drawn-out "awaaaaaayyyy" from the > > chorus of "Peoples' Parties?" > > > > I love the song, but this is a not-so-minor > > annoyance every time I hear it. > > > > If it's the same awaaaaaaayyy I'm thinking of, isn't > she singing harmony with herself at that point?
