Dear friends,

As Kate and Victor have already posted, Dave Carter a wonderful
musician and songwriter died Friday. I was fortunate enough
to have presented Dave and his partner Tracy Grammer four times
at the Living Trad series, indeed they opened the series when
it started up again four years ago. Dave and Tracy toured with
Joan Baez and Richard Shindell earlier this year. They were on
the verge of much wider recognition.

Reading the tributes at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Dave-and-Tracy/
I realize how much Dave touched others as he did Michele and I.

And he sang of his passing, in the first song on their first CD:

"And should you glimpse my wandering form out on the borderline
Between death and resurrection and the council of the pines
Do not worry for my comfort, do not sorrow for me so
All your diamond tears will rise up and adorn the sky beside me
When I go."

It's been a tough weekend.
