I think in one of the articles somewhere she does indeed identify it as being about 
the maid, it certainly plays out that way:

Look you live here like a star
Rent free suite
Big blue pool that you sun by
Trips to tropic shores
Clothes from fancy stores

And I'm assuming this part refers to her catholicism with the icons, lighting of 
candles, etc.

I do admit to loving the "you'd eat your long alive, for a Jaguar in the drive" line - 
man, it's acidically harsh, and justifiably so.

But musically you're right, the melody doesn't stick. It's the NRH equivalent of "The 
Tea Leaf Prophecy"...an interesting sidebar based on some autobiographical data, but 
not much of a song I'm afraid.
