We arrived back late Monday evening after driving 3254 miles in 9 days.
We left early on the morning of Sunday 25th and drove down to the
Chunnel. I was feelign quite ill. Wimp that I am I was frightened of
going thru that tunnel. ( had opted not to go on the seacat as that
scared me too!) This trip was only 35 minutes and only about 25 in the
actaul tunnel. Well, if they had told me it was no different to going on
the tube(subway) I would not have been so uptight. We drove on to this
huge train. I sat, wondrering if I would throw up. I closed my eyes and
did my TM(transcendental med). Before I knew it, we were in daylight
again. The strange thing was, before we got on the train, we we dealt
with by French customs. (i assumed oin the way back, we would be seen by
Brit customs-but no no, French again).
Oh and I also opted to take my own car. As it turned out this was a
brilliant idea. Firstly, I had really goiod all round vision, especially
on motorways. On single rods, I could not see ahead of lorries etc in
front of me to overtake, but John could so that was okay and besides I
neevr really did that. I breifly drove my firends car in sapin and was
very gald I had canceeld the hire care. I found it very difficult to
change gears with my right hand.

More to come. I find ti hard to read thru loing mails so i will do this
in parts!
