I usually stay out of this stuff too, but what the hell. (And I a mere Canadian who probably should just shut up about it - I claim diplomatic immunity!) Still, if he had just said, "Yes, I had sex with "that woman" and that one and that one - well, not actual intercourse maybe, but you know - nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more. I apologize to my family, to Monica L etc., to their families and to the people of the USA for my shoddy behavior," the whole thing would have disappeared quickly and not cost so much time, money and embarassment to so many people. He wouldn't be the first world leader to have an affair, or affairs, and we wouldn't have been subjected to every sordid and banal detail of who did what to whom. Yes, he should be embarassed and so should the politicians and the media who dragged this thing out ad nauseum.
