What an awesome top 12!! I am sure it has been posted before here and
it is on the list page, but what a great list! I'd love to sit and chat it
up with Joni about Musicians and music in general. I really want the new
Laura Nyro book which is out already. Maybe I'll ask for it, for christmas.
I guess I can understand how joni gets "bristled" when compared to
Judy Collins and/or Joan Baez. It is obviously unfair and those comparisons
are made by people who just want to generalize categories it seems..
Judy Collins relationship with Joni seems to come to light in
that 1985 article, where Joni describes how she and ms. Collins planned to
go to Newport Folk Festival in 1968 and that Judy never picked her up. I am
sure many other instances occured that angered or unnerved Joni...
But, ofcourse, I have nothing against Judy Collins and would not
refuse to buy her product because of a sour relationship with Joni,
eventhough, i prefer the latter.
