Well, but this isn't going away any time soon....today's Justin Timberlake was 
yesterday's Fabian.   Popular music, generally is and has been more about 
personality than it is about music.  The vast majority of the 24 million+ music buyers 
here in the U.S. are not serious music listeners or collectors.  They are like our 
friends and family who wonder how we could possibly want to spend so much time 
thinking, reading or writing about Joni!

Personally, I think there is a lot of diversity and creativity right now but you have 
to be 
willing to look for it.  Most people just aren't that interested.
