"this is my first post to this club" Welcome, Walt! Not sure if I recall the JMDL referred to as a club...maybe we need to print up some membership cards and issure Joni decoder rings! :~)
> "Do you think joni would ever consider releasing all those old radio shows > (i think the versions i have are from a bbc show) she did in the mod 60's > before her career really took off? " Well, she says no, but I think that at some point there will be a 'rarities' boxset that will include the "Second Fret" stuff and maybe some other things that we've not heard. > "eastern rain-what a beautiful melody- > did you ever hear fairport conventions version?" Most of us have - they're the only ones who have officially recorded it, as well as 5 or 6 other Joni songs. > "these are on double cd (boot) i bought on ebay last year" Well, there are other unreleased Joni songs out there, like "Play Little David Play", "Day After Day", "Gift Of the Magi". And you don't even have to troll E-bay for the "privelege" of paying an exorbitant price! You can get copies here merely for the cost of a blank cd and postage. > "one more thing-boy did she talk a lot back then-giggly and non-stop. (kind > of like this email)." Well, she DID have to retune her guitar from song to song, so rather than have the audience just sit there while she did, she would yak. Although she's probably chatty even without having to retune...one of the things I LOVE about her live shows. > > "I also have an old vinyl bootleg which has a studio version of a song > called "good samaritan" which to me sounds like an eary version of "this > flight tonight."" The actual song title is "Hunter", it was originally designated for Blue but left off and as you know never saw the light of day. It is very similar to TFT, probably the reason why. Thanks again for the intro, Walt! Happy Joni-ing to you! :~) Bob NP: Ani, "In Or Out"
