<<imho, American Beauty, the film asks us to look closer...at the notion of beauty, American Beauty, and what that *is* and what that means to the person who is doing the observing.>>
Very true, Mags...I was fortunate enough to see it a second time in a coffeehouse with a film discussion group. A fascinating discussion about what is one of the finest American films of the past decade. With one of the best one-liners ever..."You are SO busted!" I think I could see this film an unlimited number of times and pick up on something different each time. Bob NP: Lionel Hampton, "Be-Bop" PS: Speaking of musicians that passed this year, I read this weekend about Derek Bell, the harpist for The Chieftains who died last week. The Chieftains of course recorded with Joni and many of her contemporaries, and they have done so much to promote the belnding of musics from all over the world. I hope they will continue, I'm sure they will. If you ever get the chance to see their performance, it is unforgettable. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
