hey guys,

ashara sent out this eval form a while ago, i set a reminder and kept
snoozing it. just sent off my answers to mama lion ashara, even though she
asked for a reply by october 7th(!)

i just thought i'd share what were a couple of strongest suggestions for
next year. a moment about jonifest2002, since i never wrote a real memory
post (loser!) i'm among the oldest living jonifesters, having been to
juliez's original and all of ashara's. but after the last few, i've always
felt "i should stop now, this was great, but i'm just trying to make joys
repeat and that doesn't happen" i procrastinated more than ever this year,
drove ashara to distraction. i was very doubtful about doing it at a resort
rather than at ashara's, though i understood why.

ashara absolutely hit a home run with this. this was the first time a
jonifest ended and i immediately knew, i'm back next year. i had no doubts.
that saturday night song circle especially, when even as a non-musician i
could bang on things and put on a harmony and feel like i was help making
some communal music. such a special event.

so i've been thinking about it and do have a couple of thoughts toward
improvement:

1) four days. i'll even commit this time!

2) >Length of evening: i think 4 1/2 hours straight through each night is
a little too much. maybe if there is a fourth official night of music,
this'll be easier. i do think that EVERY night should have at least a
half-hour break, like an intermission, (duh!) where no one has to be
anywhere, do a raffle or worry that if they walk outside they're going to
miss someone fantastic... the music is that good.
