> Any thoughts or analyses are welcome. Anybody else dream of Joni? Oh yeah. Of course, I also dreamed I met Mick Jagger, in whom I have little interest when I'm awake. My dreams usually tell me truths, so I know Mick is *really* just a sweet guy. Joan, I dream about fairly often lately. Sometimes a nice little friendship comes naturally. Other times, she is distant. Always, as in waking life, she is a standout. > From: "Jim L'Hommedieu \(Lama\)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Joni CD-R Tree > It's funny you should mention a CD tree. The Joni Mitchell Internet > community's archivist, Simon, sent me 3 CDs a few weeks ago. I've been > meaning to see who is interested in them. Your post prompted me to action. Maybe it's time I made some effort to hear some of J's music that I've never heard. There are tapes and CDs of her stuff that is not on any of her albums? So after all these years, when I finally get my butt in gear and take action, I am going to be thrilled anew. > I'll dub it for anyone who follows these 3 basic rules: > * Agree not to ever profit in any way from spreading it around, > * Send 3 blank CD-R discs, and This is the hard part -- going to the store! I think I'll have to go to the city for these. Last night on Life and Times was a profile of a Russian who was instrumental in getting Perestroika, etc in; he was influenced by his 10-year "exile" in Canada. Then there was the Joni Mitchell Pt 1 and 2 "coming up" -- actually it's not often they do a two-part show, is it? So that's something to look forward to. Their approach is always respectful too. Anyway, my point: for the next week the CBC will probably run commercials relentlessly for it, and for a change they are commercials I will not curse at for being repeated back to back. I'm getting kindof excited about it. You're the lucky ones -- who are going to see Andrew's version without the damn commercials. Don't let the "top 40 baby food" comment I made put you off. Life and Times is a show well worth watching. Kate http://xoetc.antville.org
