Anyway, this thread did set me thinking about how much I would earn if I took
to the streets armed only with my rudimentary guitar strumming and ability to
carry a tune reasonably well. I've always fancied having a go at busking,
and was wondering if any of our listers have done it - as there are so many
hugely accomplished musicians and singers, I'd be surprised if the answer
were no. How much dosh did you make??
We, as in the band, were thinking about doing this sometime in London. The sticking point for me was that I'd need an acoustic bass, and even then probably wouldn't be heard.
I've copied Martin (Giles: JMDLer and our guitarist) on this message, as I've a sneaking suspicion that he and Strings (singer, lyricist, all round Karaoke gal) have actually given it a go before now. Martin...?
