You've got some people who won't go to Chinese restaurants because the original case was from China, and it was (apparently) brought back to Canada by a family who had just come back from China. I've heard all sorts of paranoid ideas about it - it's the terrorists who started it; or it's the Americans because they're pissed off with us over Iraq.
