Cheerz, palz...I pop in and out of the Joni discussions from time to time
(although the posts sit here in my Joni mailbox tempting me), but I
couldn't pass up this particular subject line.
The first "Taxation Without Representation" license plates were issued,
accompanied by a marching band (no less), last Saturday, at a rally
featuring many DC elected officials, including the world's best nonvoting
member of Congress, Eleanor Holmes Norton. I'm about to leave my apartment
and walk up the hill to vote for Eleanor...for what it's worth (and it's
not not not worth the very same taxation rates paid by those of you who
have real representation, I'm sure, but there I go again).
I know, I know. If I don't like it, I can move.
But that would upset Deanna Ivy the Wonderkitty no end, I'm afraid, and
besides, this is home.
As one who knows just how much a vote matters, I urge all US Joni listers
to get out there today and vote.
Hugz,
Janet and Deanna, who seems to understand that it's election day (possibly
because I've been marching around the apartment humming Sousa marches and
trying to figure out where to display a license plate when I don't have a car)
