Sometimes life throw you a couple of bricks. The Joy Family is grieving the
loss of their son-in-law Michael McCann III. My daughter and her husband have
been seperated for some time now and some of you know already that Jim and I
have had temporary custody of our granddaughter Anastasia for almost four
years while these two have been trying to get their lives together. Michael
suffered from a bipolar disorder which made it even more difficult for him.
They had three children together. In addition to Anastasia they had a set of
identical twin boys, Michael IV and Nicholas, 5yrs of age who reside with his
parents. It is with deep sadness that I must share with you yet more bad
news. Michael took his own life sometime late Wednesday evening. Some passer
by discovered his body along side the conrail tracks in Edison, NJ late
Friday afternoon. He had been released from the hospital two weeks prior due
to his illness. I had no idea. Usually when things would flare he would call
and we would talk. This time he did
n't call. If you have anyone who suffers from depression, don't ignore your
concerns, seek help for them. It is a very serious mental illness that
effects 1- 5% of the adult population and causes great disturbances for them,
their friends and family. Jim and I are just heartbroken over the loss of
this young man and our grandchildren who must live life without their father.
Anastasia doesn't know yet that his death was an apparent suicide, but I know
I will have to tell her before she hears it from someone else. Little
Nicholas cried out in church today during the services that he didn't like
the way his father died. My heart just bleeds for them. Please pray for these
children and his family in their time of greiving.
Thanks for the bandwidth
