Genrally speaking, people usually commit, or attempt , suicide because they want the
pain
to stop and can't see another way. It has always baffled me why many an unsuccessful
attempt is sneeringly categorised as 'attention seeking'. If someone is willing to harm
themesleves to get attetion they NEED attention! Thinking that a successful(or even
attempted) suicide was just a way of 'getting back' is much easier than to face the
fact
that the person just couldn't stand the pain anymore. It absolves everyone else of any
responsibility. Not for the suicide but for the lack of attention prior.
A young man we knew(not well) committed suicide at age 18 by throwing himself from the
14th floor. This young lad had been abused. He had cried for help. He was turned away.
He
was balmed to clear other's consciences.
