when working (presently off with a wrecked back), i commute 55 miles to
work but my schedule requires i make the drive only three times a
week... sometimes four. plus, these are high efficiency/lowest pollution
miles - no stop-and-go freeway or city driving. I just can't live in the
city - mountains are my home - so to me there is presently no choice to
the commuting. i have paid big bucks for a solar/wind electrical
generating system for my house so when that gets installed i will feel
less concern about the driving/polluting.
