i am new to this list so bear with me. i am looking for any critical review
of joni's song 'down to you'. please let me know of any sources of
informaiton. either joni's own interpretation of the lyrics and the
sentiment behind it or some published analysis of the song.
if none exists, feel free to give me your own brand of dime store wisdom
about the song. i am thinking about sending it to someone as a gesture
because i think the lyrics are beautiful, but i am a little hung up on the
'it all comes down to you' bit. i am not sure how to read it. i don't want
to send it if it's trying to say that everything about me hinges on you.
that would be a bit much. the relationship is only a couple months old and
is in a rocky stage right now. by sending it, i could almost be putting the
nail in the coffin if its interpreted incorrectly.
also bear in mind, the person receiving the lyrics is not a joni fan and
likely never heard the song, so think of it from a fresh perspective.
