In the case of Court and Spark, the earlier version was especially bad.
Likewise for the first album. On others, the difference may not be too
great. On FTR for instance, I had to keep switching discs. I finally
was able to notice a slightly smoother high end. I do not have a HDCD
player either. Haven't heard the Hejira HDCD.
