For a while, this J Galt person wrote me mysterious unsigned letters. He is using a false name since he doesn't have the real courage of his convictions. John Galt is a character in the Ayn Rand novel, ATLAS SHRUGGED, the premise of which supports notions like greed is good, unfettered capitalism is a blessing and altruism is a weakness. The ideas are kind of Hitlerian and sink or swim socio-Darwinism. I know there are fans of Ayn Rand on this list, but I strongly feel she is an author whose novels are suitable only to adolescence and its accompanying stage of total self-indulgence. Her novels are fascinating, elaborate extensions of the narcissistic personality with all its attendant neuroses but it's a mistake to take any of them seriously. - Clark NP: Pet Shop Boys - Nightlife
