this is so cool! may i chime in?
the world of english speakers is divided between those who distinguish
between the vowel sounds in ''lot'' and ''thought'', and those who don't.
hence the glory/lorry/sorry/lori phenomenon.

as a matter of fact, i would love to conduct a little survey among you
''natives''.
if you want to participate, reply privately [somehow, i don't think that
this topic has a lot of potential for a thread...] my project is about vowel
sounds and regions. are you willing to complete a short questionnaire for
me?

I don't know how to explain it. we say it the same as Lori but it does not
ryhme with
glory. AHH! Got it. Both rhyme with Sorry which does not rhyme with glory.
