I feel sorry for my mistake, because I was only stoned by my stupidity when
stating that Ramona is the Austrian version of Joni Mitchell. Of course,
every human being is unique in the vast cosmos, so that my A=B comparison is
inadmissible. However, I think that one can find some similarities between
Ramona and Joni in different musical dimensions of comparison.

Sometime during Ramona 's Woodstock song interpretation in Nov. 2000, I had
a flash of inspiration that it was possible to invent a theoretical concept
for a new hippie movement (the so-called starflowerchildren or
starchildren). Now, I am trying to convince myself that it is possible to do
that, but I also see one fatal error of the old hippie movement that died
around 1970 (see e.g. Joni's Blue song): Heavy drugs were set in and flower
power was over. So, I think drugs should be replaced by a healthy meditation
technique. The so-called mystical experience (many hippies know what I am
talking about), can also be provoked by the appropriate meditation technique
instead of taking hallucinogenic drugs. This experience is characterized by
a drastical release of very basic distinctions (e.g. the self-world
distinction and the past-future distinction). This is a feeling of wholeness
or unity between the self and the cosmos (the so-called oceanic feeling). Of
course, there were also other major factors that led to the decline of the
movement.

But the new concept of starchildren, starflowerchildren, children of
supernovae, and starstuff-everything is, more than we care to realize, a
cosmopolitan idea, rooted in Manhard Schlifni, Joni Mitchell, Ramona
Kasheer, Heather Nova, Carl Sagan, Rupert Sheldrake, Immanuel Kant,
Cyber-Hippies, Woodstock, Cosmology, Astronomy, Chaos Theory, Feminism,
meditation, spirituality, humanity, New Age, participatory Democracy,
collective consciousness, vegetarian food, Greenpeace, Club of Rome, love
energy flow, noave stars, red giant stars, supernoave stars, the Planetary
Society, and the United Federation of Planets.

Special thanks go to Joni for the invaluable impulses of her Woodstock song.
Joni's music has touched my mind, heart and soul. I am so happy that - in
the infiniteness of time and the vastness of the cosmos - I can share the
same planet and the same epoch with Joni. Stardust we are; To the glowin
stars we shall return, maybe someday.

Manhard

PS: When you go to Vienna to see a concert from Ramona, forget about the
need to wear flowers in your hair.
