Such terribly, terribly sad news. I suppose it's only when it happens to
artists of one's own generation, who has soundtracked your life so
intimately as some of Kirsty's music has done over the past 15 years
(not so much recently, I have to admit), that the loss strikes a deeper
chord than merely a passing acknowledgement.
She always came across as a very down-to-earth and savvy woman. No doubt
a great mother, too. I immediately thought of her kids left behind, for
some reason. They're not babies anymore, but nobody should lose their
mother so young.
Basically, I suppose I'm just shocked.
