well, of course you must, colin!!!! from central argentina southwards there
are laws that mandate that drivers carry a ''winter kit'' when they'll be
driving in colder areas: blankets, food, a special manual of instructions,
etc.. you can get caught in a blizzard just like that! i learned this the
hard way in mendoza [a western province] a few years ago. we were caught in
a snowstorm for 22 hours!!!!!!!!! fortunately, my friend is quite the anal
retentive, and we had all the requisites. never go for a long drive without
your cell and your winter kit!!!

You know, a friend came up with something that didn't occur to me at the
time-I was
driving around on my own, thru back roads and mountains, miles from
anywhere, in the
freezing cold and snow and I had no mobile phone. Imagine if the car had
broken down?
Never occurred to me that anything would happen. next time I'll take food,
warm clothes
and hire a mobile phone!
