I remember hearing about this incident the evening after it happened and
yes, I found it extremely disturbing. But you know, as was mentioned
earlier this year, this list is centered around Joni and her music, and it
often veers off into other areas. For the most part, these other topics
tend to be about happy and beautiful things, everyday life, things that
bring a gleam of joy to your eye, humorous ancedotes, etc...I think I prefer
it this way, as opposed to bringing up every dreadful crime that takes
place.
Come to think of it, I did mention "on this list" the other week that the
sheriff elect of Atlanta was gunned down in front of his own home, and in my
post I said how extremely disturbing it was and when I tried to figure out
why something like this would take place, I found it was beyond my
comprehension.
No, I don't think people are so used to gun violence that it doesn't rate
being mentioned. For one thing, it is so much in the media already that
everybody already knows what took place. And again, this list is a
reflection of the list members and I for one prefer to reflect things that
are a little more positive. But remember as well, this is only an internet
list, and there is probably a great deal that goes on in the minds of the
list members that never finds its way onto this list. So in answer, no, I
am not used to gun crime nor do I think many people are.
And I still think it's Fucking Great to be Alive!!!
